Table Mountain

Thankfully the heat has broken! Thus, up to Table Mountain we did go. At over 260 million years old, Table Mountain is older than the Alps, Himalayas, Rockies, and Andes. It is 1085 meters (3559 feet) and looks flat (hence the name), from the side that faces Cape Town. The mountains to the southwest of it are called the 12 Apostles.

Heading up on the cable car. We were going to walk up, but then we came to our senses. Kirsty walked up it 20 years ago. Enough said.

Sun shining on the Atlantic side.

Not so much on the Cape Town side.

 Lion's Head in the distance.

This is a dassie. It is a rodent, whose nearest relative is the elephant. This one is about the size of a very fat chihuahua. They are all over the place.

Apparently this is the epitome of style to the hip Chinese tourist.

 Heading down!

There are 2 climbers on this rock face. Arrows point to their location.

Peace my friends.
