House of Trembling Madness

Hello all from across the pond. We are settling in to life here, having found a place to move into June 1st, and watching Sharry's spaniel and cat whilst she is in America.

Meg the noodle head.  No picture of the cat because, well, I hate cats.

Whilst walking about in York, we came upon the House of Trembling Madness. Of course, we had to pop in for a bit of lunch. As you do.
This medieval hall was built around 1180, and the beams were added about 800 years ago, after many years of sailing the high seas. As it is a pub now, the name is in reference to the DTs (delirium tremens).

One climbs up a narrow stairwell to the top floor pub.

A fireplace to keep the cold at bay.

Some pub grub: salmon pâté, hummus, olives, pickles, cornichons, tzatziki, salad, sun-dried tomatoes, delicious bread and peppers. You know, English food. Kirsty had a Paulaner Hefeweizen, a very nice German beer.

 View of the Minster.

Love the beams!

Peace my friends!

Waikiki

We thought about going to the Oregon coast for a week, then came to our senses and went to Waikiki for a week. As you do. A few of our favorite things:

6:30 am view from the beach towards Diamond Head.

What's a beach without a bar? My new favorite, A Day at the Beach (left) and Kirsty's new favorite Mai Tai, a Surfrider Tai.

Of course, our favorite infinity pool next door at the Sheraton.

We are heading over across the pond to Yorkshire (where, as John said, they make the puddin').

Peace my friends!
