The Real Southernmost Tip of Africa

A lot of folks think the Cape of Good Hope is the southernmost tip of Africa. However, it is really at Cape Agulhas, a bit east of the other cape. It is also where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet.

We first went to Camps Bay in Cape Town to have lunch and dip our feet in the southern Atlantic ocean. Then we made our way to Cape Agulhas to dip our feet in the Indian Ocean. The water was freezing in the Atlantic, so were were hoping for a warmer dip. It was a bit warmer, but not by much.

Camps Bay. This is the time to come as there is no one around!

Piggies in the Atlantic. Brrrrrrr!

Kirsty has springbok, kudu and ostrich for lunch.

Here we go!

Unfortunately were weren't able to stand in the Atlantic and Indian oceans at the same time due to the shore conditions (shown in next photos). We were able to dip into the Indian ocean further down the coast.

The two oceans meet right there where that farthest break is showing. If you squint you can see the waters meet.

 Says so right there.

The lighthouse at the cape. It is over 150 years old and the light from it can be seen over 30 nautical miles out.

 Hmmm...

Good stuff! South Africans like their spices!

By the side of the road on the way back from the cape. I think it was giving Kirsty the stink eye!

Peace my friends!
