Grotte di Collepardo

There is a cave tucked in the hills, under the medieval village of Collepardo. We were the only ones in the cave, and I kept waiting for the creatures from "Aliens" to appear. The only sounds were the dripping of the water and the scary movie music (well, maybe just in my head). The walls looked slimy and soft, but were just wet and hard as a rock.
The pictures at the end are of Collepardo, a medieval stronghold at one time, with a fortress built at the top (mostly gone now).

 The entrance.

Ceiling as you enter.

 Some of these are massive!

 Awesome!!

 Hard as a rock.

 Just outside the cave.

 Thinking about buying this fixer-upper.

 Road through the old wall.

Looking up from the road in the previous picture.

 Obligatory door shot.

Siesta time, not a soul around.

Fortress remnants on top.

Very blessed to experience so much in Italy!!

Peace to you all.
